Civil U. S. Flag versus Military

There are legends that there is a Civil U. S. flag versus military that used to exist.

I have seen such arguments, starting in about 1993. Around that time, a man showed me his evidence that it looked like the image below. Unfortunately, I lost my notes on it. But I do recall one of his pieces of evidence, and that was a passage from Nathaniel Hawthorne’s book, “The Scarlet Letter.” In that book, there is this passage:

“From the loftiest point of its roof, during precisely three and a half hours of each forenoon, floats or droops, in breeze or calm, the banner of the republic; but with the thirteen stripes turned vertically, instead of horizontally, and thus indicating that a civil, and not a military post of Uncle Sam’s government, is here established.”

Of course, it would have had fewer stars on it during the 17th century, but this is what it would look like now. Note that Hawthorne says “thirteen stripes turned vertically.” The thirteen stripes turned vertically no one has found in an existing flag, or photograph, at least in red and white. You can find one with 16 red and white vertical stripes, but not thirteen. There is still today, a flag with 13 vertical BLUE and white stripes, used by the Power Squadron of the Coast Guard. The lecturer I heard, had evidence that the stripes of the civil U. S. flag were 13, were vertical, and were blue and white. Again, I am sorry that I cannot deliver that evidence, but I remember this is how it was described. It may be only a legend, but I think this flag is beautiful anyway.

There is a web site here that has some interesting arguments about the history of the flag to consider.

Please understand: I AM NOT STATING THAT THIS FLAG CERTAINLY EXISTED. Rather, I am proposing that this flag be used if you agree with the following: The stars representing the states are in a red background, because red represents war, and the states were born of war; but the stripes are blue and white, because we are about peace, and the Constitution says our military is only for national DEFENSE, not offense and empire building and doing the bidding of NATO and European and international bankers etc, or for the “World Court.” Nor is the American military meant for being the policeman of the world, with the world not helping fund that police force. If you like this idea, then you can buy for $2 a lapel pin with this flag on it. Check it out at someone’s Zazzle store.

But some will say, “How in the world could evidence of that have disappeared? Would our government actually cover up something like the existence of a civil U. S. flag versus military?

You bet your life they are capable of that. The list of things the federal government has covered up is endless. One important one, is that President Roosevelt ordered that all the Soldier’s Training Manuals be burned. That was an interesting manual, because it instructed the soldier that he had taken an oath to defend our REPUBLIC from Democracies. Yes, that’s right, Democracies were our enemy. The manual also had two lists, of traits, differentiating a Republic from a Democracy. I have seen a copy of it.
